The American Red Cross Serving Central Texas is seeking your help by volunteering your time to help save lives during the Sound the Alarm. Save a Life. fire safety and smoke alarm installation event on April 28 in Austin, TX from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Help us prevent needless tragedies in Central Texas.
Volunteers and local partners will be canvassing neighborhoods, installing free smoke alarms, replacing batteries in existing alarms and helping families create escape plans. Positions needed will be installers, educators and documenters. No experience necessary; training will be provided. Your help is needed.
Volunteers will be installing up to 1,000 free smoke alarms into the following neighborhoods: Austin, Quail Creek; Pflugerville, Windemere South.
